Abstract

A particular equilibrium problem, problem (E), is derived as a slight variation of a fixed demand equilibrium problem. An algorithm, algorithm (D), is stated which solves problem (E) when that problem is smooth and monotone. The paper then proceeds to show that three elastic demand problems may be cast in the form of a problem (E);so that algorithm (D) essentially solves these problems too.The last of the elastic demand problem considered has queues on saturated links and signal controls to resolve conflicts at junctions.Computational results for a spectrum of simple fixed demand problems are given.
