Abstract

The search for the relationship between residential location and urban transportation systems has been conducted from the deterministic side, using the tools of microeconomic theory, and from the probabilistic side, using information theory. The synthesis makes available to the transportation planner a framework which enables him to use the potentially available data to predict the effects on residential location of a change in the transportation system.
