Abstract

Information is provided on available techniques to minimise problems associated with the "bump at the end of the bridge." The transition from a roadway to a bridge structure entails design, construction, and maintenance problems. This report of the Transportation Research Board describes those problems as well as the many solutions that are applicable to specific situations. (A)
