Abstract

Attention is focused on the design and control of freeway exit-ramp terminals at surface streets. Among matters of principal discussion are compatibility of design elements, traffic control device applications, impact of access to adjacent development, accommodation of pedestrians and bicycles within the interchange area, safety, capacity, wrong- away movements, and provision of facilities for public transportation vehicles. Research needs pointed out.
