Abstract

The report first examinen the principles and engineering components of lighting, describing the relationshiop between the observer, the luminaire and road surface. The scope and application of Astralian Code is discussed and contrast is then made with the use of computer techniques in the design process. The availability and scope of computer programs to calculate road lighting performance is discussed and the application is investigated.
