Abstract

A study was made of the infrastructure equipment of cruise assist systems that would enable seven principal user services for improving safety, which is being studied in Advanced Cruise-Assist Highway System Research Association (AHSRA). First the functions of centre equipment, roadside equipment and AHS vehicle that compose cruise assist systems were allotted on the basis of co-ordination between road and vehicle, then interfaces among those equipment were studied. And the function of roadside processing facility which supervise each sensor and communication unit at roadside and centre equipment were studied. Moreover, system of proving test at test course of Public Works Research Institute, Ministry of Construction scheduled from October to December 2000 was designed prior to the real road deployment.
