Abstract

Describes a method of designing a secondary road network A structure plan has laid down broad social, economic and environmental goals and the future population, employment, generalized land use, and demand for movement are forecast. The secondary road network must provide for the proportion of this demand allocated to it by the total transport strategy. It must also serve the particular needs of urban structure and harmonize with the built environment.
