Abstract

This paper describes a new Polish guide for the design of small roundabouts. The first part covers the historical use of roundabouts. The second part provides an overview of the guidelines, including classification of roundabout types and recommendations for their use. The third part, which covers characteristic elements of geometric design, is followed by a discussion of design errors and problems encountered in implementation. Finally, the problems encountered and the need for further research are specified. (A)
