Abstract

This paper was presented at the "Cost effective bridge projects" session. These proceedings are available on CD-ROM. Design/build can offer the key to project implementation in a timely and cost-effective way. A well-managed design/build project can deliver maximum value to an owner in a compressed time frame. This paper describes two successful design/build projects - one in the public sector and one in the private - and address some of the key aspects which made these two very different projects successful.
