Abstract

Modern traffic control depends quite extensively on vehicle detection. This is, however, one of the most vulnerable elements of the system. Failures may cause long waiting times and therefore time losses for traffic. They are often not discovered in due time. This article gives detailed background information plus a set of examples where failures in detection can be traced and dealt with.
