WSP Group were recently commissioned by Lancashire County Council to review and update the council's Vulnerable Road User (VRU) audit policy and procedures. The purpose of the review was to assess existing documentation to ensure that all current legislation and best practice advice was being observed. As a result of the review new guidelines on conducting VRU audits have been published by the council which aim to ensure that the opportunities to encourage vulnerable road users to use the network are comprehensively considered at all stages of the design process.
