Abstract

This publication consists of 16 papers that explore the impact of bus rapid transit systems on road safety; busway design; buses as low-carbon mobility solution; motorized vehicle purchases; car ownership policies in megacities; models of auto and motorcycle ownership and mode choice; and the characteristics of mixed traffic on urban arterials. This issue of the TRR also examines bicycle equivalents for mopeds; impacts of red light cameras; bicyclists' perception of comfort on physically separated bicycle paths; electric bicycle rider behavior at signalized intersections; motorcycle safety in rural areas; sustainable urban transport policy; accident-induced indirect costs for determining penalties for violations of laws; congestion cost equations for multilane highways; and conducting transportation survey research.
