Abstract

As a result of car navigation systems becoming increasingly accurate, there is a growing demand for higher precision address information. To meet this need, an address entry system was developed that makes use of commercially available residence maps. The use of residence maps enables to find the address of each individual residence; however, problems solved to develop this system were: (1) Conversion of coordinates requires many points whose absolute coordinates are known; and (2) At the time of annual updating, visually checking the new map against the old is a highly labor-intensive and time-consuming task.
