Abstract

This paper was presented at the session titled `1999 TAC environmental achievement award nominations'. At the Manitoba Heavy Construction Association (MHCA), the efforts of the Environment Program are to be commended. They have developed and are continually improving upon environmental education and training material on paper. Over the past year (1999), they have been moving from paper to practical application of safe and environmentally responsible workplace practices for industry. It is industry and government's view that implementation of such practices are working towards improving environmental practices at work sites, while encouraging the continuation of the work in which our industry represents. The following paper is a short vision of the MHCA Environment Program's efforts towards the above-mentioned endeavours. (A)
