Abstract

The introduction of Random Breath Testing by Australian authorities has prompted the proliferation of cheap hand-held electronic personal breath testing devices and a number of more sophisticated coin-in the slot devices for instillation into public places where alcoholic beverages are consumed. This paper describes the development and evaluation of an Australian designed and manufactured public breath testing device-the BTA.
