Abstract

Location reference technology has been noticeable as the fundamental technology to develop Telematics and LBS (Location Based Service). Especially, Coordinate-based Dynamic LRM (Location Reference Method) study has recently accelerated because this method can solve some issues which the implemented Pre-Coding method holds. In Japan, a similar study has been done since 2000. Now in ISO-TC204/ WG3.3, standardization of location reference proceeds and its documents are composed of two specifications, Pre-Coded Profile and Dynamic Profile. Dynamic LRM has generally large data size, so the compression format is described as option in Dynamic profile. This paper explains its compression format examined by members of ISO-TC204/WG3.3.
