Abstract

The development of guidelines for the display of visual information in mass transit customer information systems is part of a major research effort to develop ergonomic performance standards for electronic information systems. A data base of commercially available technologies was compiled as part of the research effort. The research has focused on ergonomic performance guidelines for the man-machine interface between electronic information systems and users. The guidelines have attempted to accommodate users with sensory or cognitive disabilities. (A)
