Abstract

Excessive speeding behavior of the drivers is one of the challenges in the area of transportation around the world. Excessive speeding is defined as driving faster than the posted speed limit or driving too fast for the prevailing traffic and environment conditions. This paper presents a model that captures the factors and interaction of factors for estimating motivation index for adopting excessive speeding behavior of the drivers. The model is based on factorial experiment design approach. The results of the model indicate that age group 18 - 25 and driver's awareness are highly contributing factors for adopting excessive speeding behavior of the drivers.
