Abstract

The paper describes a Finite Element computer model of the human face developed at the Laboratory. A brief description is given of the anatomy of the face, along with the nature of the injuries which characterise facial trauma. The corresponding finite element structure is described and the initial validation results are given, along with an evaluation of the model's performance. (A)
