Abstract

The object of this study was to develop a method of evaluating road sign display systems. The research was divided in three phases: I The development of assessment techniques to relate sign characteristics to driving performance. II. Testing of assessment techniques developed in phase I, and III. Assessment of sign on going changes made by the Ohio Department of Highways using techniques developed in phase I and II. Conclusions are given and recommendations made for further study in certain areas.
