Abstract

The Mitsubishi Driver Support System (MDSS) consists of three sub-systems, Lane Departure Warning System, Side-rear Monitor, and Preview Distance Control. The integrated function of MDSS can be interpreted as monitoring road and traffic conditions around the vehicle, easing the operational demands on the driver, and prompting the driver to take greater care to avoid a lapse of concentration or careless mistakes. This paper describes the support functions, the system configurations and the system benefits of the MDSS. (A*)
