Abstract

Basic technologies for a multimode wireless communication terminal (MWCT) are presented. In particular, a layer structure of the software definable MODEM of the MWCT and a processing speed needed in software radio technology for some ITS services is discussed. The experimental modulation board of the MWCT for the ITS services using the DSRC (Dedicated Short Range Communication) system is developed, which enables multi-modulation-system, multi-frame-format, and multi-symbol-rate.
