Abstract

The navigation system is presented in this paper to provide safe and fast routes which consider multi-dimensional information of the road and which are minimum in dynamic cost calculated with real time traffic information. Multi-dimensional information means various physical restrictions of the road such as width, weight, height, turn limitation and so on. Besides the start and destination, the proposed navigation system takes the classification and name of the vehicle, and driver's preferences as input parameters to find the safest optimal path. For the implementation of this navigation system, a database of mass-product vehicles was first constructed, which consists of width, height, length, maximum speed and loading capacity of them, and then a corresponding database was made of the roads. The simulation and test are performed to show the effectiveness of the proposed system with real time traffic data. (A*)
