Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate the utility of the Biofidelity Ranking System by applying it to three impact dummies: the SID-HIII, ES-2, and prototype WorldSID-alpha. The three dummies were subjected to a battery of tests for which cadaver response data was available. A new system for ranking dummy biofidelity has been developed and is being offered for consideration to the safety community. The proposed methodology appears to provide useful insights in the evaluation of side impact dummies.
