Abstract

The municipality of Curitiba in Brazil are introducing a transport system designed to be an integral part of the urban development. The basis of the system is a number of bus-ways which radiate from the city centre and which will carry frequent express buses. The envisaged transportation system is described together with the thinking behind its organization and the likely prospects fir its future development.
