Abstract

The development of traffic and traffic safety over long periods is viewed as long- term change in system structure and output in the context of self- organizing and learning systems. Relevant changes in the traffic system are foremost expressed by growth of traffic volume as a result of road enlargement and growth of the number of vehicles and distances travelled. On the basis of supply- demand considerations, mathematical models for traffic growth are proposed.
