Abstract

The potential of the visual communication system has been and will continue to be constantly challenged. As a result, it would seem appropriate to explore: a) To what extent the development of communication systems based on the stimulation of some sensorial apparatus other than that of vision may be expected; and b) To what extent future development of the standard visual communication system may be expected to meet the challenges of new signalization requirements and full implementation of existing standards.
