Abstract

Recently, companies' competition in Japanese manufacturing and logistics industry is heating up with deregulation and abolition. Each company is in the stage of investigating various measures, for business rationalization to survive and for promoting the efficiency, and Supply Chain Management (SCM) is focused on its most effective countermeasure. SCM is the concept of optimization for the whole series of Supply Chain, which performs from order entry to manufacturing and/or to logistics in the company activities. In the meanwhile, considering the traffic control, which vehicles have more than ninety (90) % of transporting method share, and Intelligent Transport System (ITS) which was remarkable in the Nagano Olympics has produced excellent results and so ITS is being developed rapidly through Japan. Among others, Mobile Operation Control Systems (MOCS) and Dynamic Route Guidance Systems (DRGS) are expected much of as stable official industrial infrastructure to support Supply Chain optimization which mentioned above. We have developed Supply Chain Management System cooperating with ITS in such situation to promote organic combination of ITS and SCM. This paper contains the system outline and the verification test results for to prove its effectiveness. (A*)
