Abstract

The Standard that was developed recognises that the use of an adult belt to restrain a child is not ideal and gives a lower level of protection than a purpose built child restraint. Therefore, the opportunity was taken to use simplified test procedures to avoid many of the problems inherent in Regulation No. 44.
