Abstract

The development of snow-melting technologies that use renewable energy isa major part of the Five-year Plan for New Road Technologies. The Tohoku Regional Bureau has been promoting such technology toward supporting snow and ice control of roads in the Tohoku region. The development targets have basically been achieved. This report presents a comprehensive analysis of the snow-melting performance and effectiveness of various snow-melting facilities and the improvements in their heat efficiency, based on assessments performed in fiscal 2002 through 2004. For the covering abstract see ITRD E143097.
