Development of specifications for skid-resistant asphalt concrete.

Abstract

Ten years of research in New York State on the skid resistance of asphalt pavements is summarized. Skid numbers measured by a two-wheeled trailer are related to cumulative vehicle passes for the State's geologic formations which are sources of course aggregate for asphalt concrete.
