Abstract

This article describes vehicular traffic dynamics for automated vehicle systems which are developed thereby using calculus of variations and optimal control theory. The relationship of traffic dynamics developed here and the traffic dynamics which have been used extensively before by non-automated systems is also shown. This approach considers multiple objective functions for the system.
