Abstract

Some 800 men and woman drivers have been interviewed at random and data collected from a number of social agencies. This research is exceptional in that it deals with accident and offence histories, and with "ordinary" rather than "serious" accidents and offences. The relative importance of driving experience, attitudes of drivers and social deviance is analysed in depth.
