Abstract
This report gives a summary description of the amount and development of traffic unsafety in the last years. With the aid of provisional statistical data on accidents in 1979 the remarkable developments in that year are discussed. Also described are the SWOV activities. A survey of Dutch policy in traffic safety is added.
