An in- depth study into car- accidents was set up to determine the relationships between vehicle characteristics and the injury- severity of the car occupants. The study has resulted in detailed data on vehicle damage, damage to the interior, the functioning of car doors, the working of safety steering columns, contact of occupants with parts of the interior and seats etc.
