Abstract

The Hypothesis that alcohol has a different effect upon selective attention in contrast to intensive attention has been tested in an experiment, which is described. The study suggests some further areas of experimentation. The relationship between driving and divided attention under alcohol appears to offer possible explanations for the increased accident rate under alcohol.
