Abstract

Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) is the marriage of information and communication technologies with the vehicles and networks that move people and goods; they were also deployed for enforcement and to improve virtuallyevery section of the transport chain as well as reduce their environmental impact. It is generally agreed that ITS for commercial use target several improvements among which: boosting paperless procedures and documents tofacilitate exchanges between the different stakeholders of a supply and transport chain and the customs clearance. Progress in these areas also helps transport operators to increase their effectiveness in response to the higher competition in an open market. It can also help diminish the negative effects of pollution and congestion.
