This is the second in a series of nine reports on safe driving by Brake and Direct Line. It examines the attitudes of 800 drivers and motorcycle riders towards driving while impaired by alcohol, drugs and fatigue; and Government policies on road safety. The report is based on a survey of drivers and riders carried out by Brake volunteers, at a range of locations across the UK. Every effort was made to ensure that a wide variety of people responded. Repeating some questions from a survey carried out in 2003 by Brake and Green Flag has enabled some analysis of how driver attitudes and behaviour have changed over the intervening six-year period.
