Abstract

The needs for both professional driving instructors and trained research staff to investigate driver learning experience are stressed. New tools available in academic circles need to be translated into the traffic safety area. Closer ties between universities and traffic safety research, as in Australia and North Carolina, might be the first step in improving this situation.
