Abstract

The possibility of performing measurements of equivalent veiling luminances using a calibrated CCD camera is analyzed. Measurements are made in laboratory by different methods; directly by measuring vertical illuminance and angles, using a Fry lens attached, both to a Pritchard luminancemeter, to a CCD camera, and by taking several images of the same scene with different neutral density filters. The results are discussed. Applications to field measurements are made.
