Abstract

Several types of Traveler Information applications have been developed and deployed under the auspices of IVHS and the consumer electronics and telecommunications industries. This paper addresses methods of disseminating information to the traveler in communications based ATIS systems deployed in a client/server model. The benefits of the client/server model as it applies to ATIS applications and the delivery of these services over various wireless and wireline media are discussed. (A)
