Abstract

The main goal of this study was to analyze the traffic flow and resulting danger at the junction A 23 - B 3b - distributing curcuit Kaisermühlen and, based on the results, to give recommendations for improvements. The traffic study on road marking in the North Western merging area carried out by professor Dorfwith on behal of the Municipal Council, Department 46, as well as site plans on a reduced scale of 1:2000 were available to the authors. In addition to the data obtained from this study on-the-spot investigations were conducted on May 24, 1984 between 7.000 and 9.00 a.m. and 3,30 and 6.00 p.m. They included measurement of speeds and intervals as well as conflict observations.
