Abstract

From traffic studies in urban areas it may be concluded that, for instance in a country such as the Netherlands, freight traffic in most towns forms less than 20% of the total number of trips by road. Urban freight transport activities are of such importance that interference with its purely traffic aspects should no be lightly undertaken.
