Abstract

The DOCTOR method is a traffic conflict observation technique. At traffic conflicts is supposed that a chance on a collision can be estimated. A study into the correlations between the different conflict techniques, which is described here, shows a shortcoming of construct validity. It is concluded that the theoretical basis of the DOCTOR technique is elaborated insufficiently for research into the predictive validity and the practical application of the method.
