Abstract

By introducing a porous, pervious asphaltic concrete named drainage asphalt as a wearing course, the Danish State Highway Department has contributed to the improvement of skid resistance on highways. The cost for a wearing course of drainage asphalt at large can be regarded as equal to a similar course of ordinary asphaltic concrete, but has more advantages.
