Abstract

In the reported study three types of bicycles for children of 8 to 13 years old are compared by means of three manoeuvring experiments and judgements on ergonomic aspects of riding on a specific type of bicycle. The aim of these activities is to come to recommendations for the choice of a bicycle, a selection in which the type of bicycle ought to play a role. Starting point is the relation between manoeuvrability, braking quality and ergonomic aspects of a bicycle type and the relative traffic safety.
