Abstract

Lancashire County Council's Road Safety Group has gained experience over the last five years through the promotion of road safety to Lancashire's companies and large organisations. This paper covers how the work with these companies has helped to develop the Drive it Forward Initiative, launched on 24th September 2002, progress to date and future plans. Lancashire is a county of 3,069 sq.km in the North West of England. It is one of the most populous and urbanised shire counties in Britain, with 6,458 kms of road, 47,000 businesses and a workforce of 660,000 people. For the covering abstract see ITRD E119888.
