Abstract
While one half of the drivers found law enforcement in traffic offences to be adequate, two thirds of the pedestrians rated penal reactions to be either lenient or too lenient. Drunken driving and speeding was especially considerd major offences too lightly treated. For death accidents as many as 60% of the cases were dismissed while 20% led to prison sentence. Law enforcement in cases with person injury thus seem too highly appraised by driver and pedestrians alike.
