Abstract

As part of the study of driver behaviour, equipment has been developed to automatically monitor the speed, headway and wheelbase of vehicles travelling along differently classified roads. The data is obtained from sensing units on the road surface at the monitoring sites and it sent over G.P.O. lines via a data link to a central processing unit located at Crowthorne.
