This issue of Current Topics includes over 60 abstracts of reports, conference papers, books and journal articles that focus on the identification and measurement of unsafe driving behaviour, measures to encourage safe driving practice, and ways in which drivers adapt their behaviour in relation to safety measures. Among the unsafe behaviours covered are aggressive driving, speeding, close-following, and driving under attention-distracting conditions, such as stress or when using mobile telephones. Abstracts are included on the influence of driver experience, age, mood, attitude, attitude to risk taking, health, driving style etc. However driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, and driver fatigue are covered in separate Current Topics in Transport. These items have been selected from the material added to the TRL Library Database between 2001 and 2002.
